You haven't failed. The spaces have.

Reader

In my last email I shared something personal.

About slowing down. About shedding. About choosing to stop chasing shiny objects and listen more deeply instead.

What I didn't tell you was what happened that caused that to open up for me.

I was coming off a year-long training program. One that promised something different — feminine leadership, and a more conscious way of working.

But what I discovered was that it wasn't feminine leadership at all.

It was the same extractive model dressed in softer language. Still built on scarcity. Still built on fear. Still using the same colonial, capitalist tactics that have nothing to do with true feminine leadership.

And even though I knew I'd be learning a system — steps, a proven process, a formula that works — what I didn't realize is that I would lose parts of myself in order to make it work.

The more I tried to fit in, the more a part of myself went quiet.

Not growing. Instead slowly disappearing.

And this recognition changed something in me.

Because I realized — this is exactly what I've watched happen to so many women in healing and personal growth spaces.

We're handed a formula, a technique. And we do it. We fit ourselves into it. We leave parts of ourselves behind.

Why? Because we want the transformation we were promised.

Because we've given our power to someone who says they have the answer, they know the way, they have the formula, the technique and it works.

And we believe them.

THE PATTERN I KEEP SEEING

And as I began to process what had happened to me, I started seeing this exact pattern everywhere — in healing spaces, in personal growth programs, in the very industry I'm part of.

On the surface the expansion of the personal growth and healing world seems like a good thing. More people are seeking healing.More conversations are happening around trauma, nervous systems regulation, embodiment, and emotional well-being.

And yet something about the way this industry operates has increasingly felt troubling to me.

Because what happened in that program wasn't an anomaly.

It was a pattern.

I've watched many approaches promise quick transformation. A breakthrough in a weekend. A new you in 90 days. A formula that will finally fix what is wrong with you and find you the person of your dreams.

But what I see again and again are thoughtful, sensitive women who have done so much — reading the books, going to the workshops, working with coaches and therapists, going on retreats — and still lying awake at night quietly wondering:

Why do I keep ending up in the same place?

When that happens, many people assume the problem must be them.

In fact, much of the personal growth industry quietly reinforces that belief.

That you didn't try hard enough. That you didn't believe enough. That you are somehow too broken.

But I want you to hear this clearly.

There is nothing wrong with you.

You are not the problem.

The problem is that most healing spaces ask you to bypass the very things that need to be healed.

Your feelings. Your body. Your nervous system. Your lived experience.

They skip straight to the mind — change your thoughts, shift your mindset, affirm your way forward.

And when that doesn't create lasting change, you assume you've failed.

But you haven't.

The spaces you've been in simply don't have room for all of who you are.

They don't make space for your messiness, your humanity, your full self.

And personal growth and healing that asks you to leave parts of yourself out of the room will never actually reach those parts.

WHAT REAL HEALING AND PERSONAL QROWTH REQUIRES

Because insight can happen in a moment.

Aha moments are many.

But integration?

That takes time.

And the industry knows people don't want to hear that.

So instead we are sold the idea that healing is a quick fix.

Manifest your best life in 30 days. Transform your life in one weekend.

But real change asks for something different.

It takes relationship.

It takes intimacy.

It takes safety.

It takes feeling.

It takes spaces where the full spectrum of our humanity is welcome.

This is the kind of work I feel increasingly called to hold.

Not spaces that ask you to fix yourself.

Not spaces that require you to be anything other than exactly who you are at this moment.

But spaces where you can arrive as you are.

Where your body is included in the process. Where your emotions have somewhere to go. Where you can reconnect to yourself in relationship with others.

Because healing does not happen in isolation.

It happens in relationship.

Relationship with ourselves. With one another. With the land we live on and the creatures we share it with. With the seasons, with nature — remembering that we are not separate from any of this.

We are part of the great web of life.

And it happens in relationship with something larger than ourselves — what some call spirit, what some call God, what some call the mystery.

Our ancestors knew this.

We forgot.

And our healing depends on remembering.

FROM "I" TO "WE"

Another thing I've begun to notice is how much of modern healing focuses almost entirely on the individual.

My growth. My trauma. My transformation. My success.

And while the personal journey absolutely matters, healing was never meant to happen in isolation.

We are relational beings.

Our wounds happen in relationship. And our healing happens in relationship too.

Which means the work cannot stop at "I".

At some point it has to expand into "we" — into our relationship with each other, with the land, with all of life.

Because when we heal our relationship to the whole, everything shifts.

There is another pattern I've begun to notice as well.

In many healing spaces, authority quietly shifts away from the individual.

The teacher becomes the expert.

The guru becomes the one who knows.

And people begin looking outside themselves for answers about their own lives.

But the truth is, the deepest healing work doesn't come from someone else having the answers for you.

It comes from creating spaces where you can reconnect with the wisdom that already lives inside you.

My role in this work is not to be an authority over your life.

It is to hold space, to guide the process, and to support you in remembering who you really are.

WHAT I AM CREATING

Over the past months I've been listening deeply to what this means for the future of my work.

And it has become clear that I want to create real, intentional spaces.

Spaces where women can come exactly as they are and do the kind of integrated work we've been talking about.

I have a few different entry points in mind — ones that meet you depending on where you are in this moment.

The first is a resource for those just beginning to understand why the body matters, why integration matters, why all of it — our emotions, our wisdom, our humanity — needs to be part of the conversation.

It's a small introduction to how I work.

The second is themed women's circles.

Spaces where we gather in community, working with movement, music, reflection, and shared witnessing.

Where your own inner knowing can emerge.

And for those who feel called to a deeper journey — a longer group container.

A small group working together over time, where the medicine comes from the circle itself, from relationship with each other, and from support along the way.

I don't know exactly what these will look like yet.

Because I don't want to create this in a vacuum.

I'd love to hear from you after reading this — what resonates? What are you longing for? What would serve you most?

These are my initial ideas, but your voice matters.

Your knowing matters.

And I'd love to hear from you.

With love,

Teresa

Dear Reader I wanted to share something a little special with you today. My conversation on the Let Go and Let’s Go podcast was just released, and I have to be honest — listening back to it felt tender. There is something vulnerable about hearing yourself tell pieces of your own story out loud. In the episode, Liliana and I talked about somatic work, women’s circles, embodiment, and the journey of coming back to yourself. But really, the heart of the conversation was about the woman who has...

Reader There’s a moment when something shifts. You start to notice the places where you’ve been saying yes when your body means no.Where you’ve been staying quiet to keep the peace.Where belonging has quietly required you to leave parts of yourself behind. And once you see it—you can’t unsee it. In my last letter, I spoke about the invisible weight so many of us carry. The systems that shape us—patriarchy, colonialism, capitalism, conditioning—and how they don’t just live “out there,” but...

I had done many years of therapy and personal transformation work. Twenty years of it. And still something felt off. Like I was missing a piece of myself I couldn't quite find. Maybe you know that feeling too... That sense that no matter how much work you do on yourself, something larger is still...
